THE Local Police in Cehegin have started using drones to locate hidden marijuana plantations and other detect other crimes in the area.
The Director of the Department for Public Safety Jeronimo Moya says that the new drones use the latest FLIR thermal imaging technology and 4k resolution cameras to give a clear picture of where and what illegal activities are going on in the area. He also made the suggestion that it could be used to locate missing persons.
The Police Department in Cehegin have three qualified drone operators at present but training will commence in the near future for the rest of the force.
