Spanish extreme sports YouTuber dies after falling 50 metres in base jumping accident

A 29-YEAR-OLD extreme sports YouTuber from Valencia died after falling around 50 metres in a botched base jump on Tuesday.

Ruben Carbonell Beneyto died at around midnight after jumping from a silo in the town of San Vicente del Raspeig.

According to Ruben’s friend who was filming with him at the time and about to make the same jump himself, Ruben pulled the cord on his parachute but it failed to fully open before reaching the ground as it was badly packed. National Police officers confirmed the assertion when they arrived a short while later.

Beneyto’s YouTube channel features several videos of extreme sports such as bungee jumping and paragliding. He had 28 subscribers on the public video platform and the last thing he filmed was over a year ago.
