ALMERIA has signed one of English football’s rising young talents, Arvin Appiah, and according to The Sun, pipping Manchester United to the post in the process.
The tabloid reported the 18-year old Nottingham Forest winger had been ”tracked” by the Red Devils, but that Almeria had “moved swiftly to secure him on a permanent deal.”
Spanish press said U.D. Almeria spent €8.8 million euros to sign the teenager to play as winger and forward for five seasons, making him the provincial club’s most expensive acquisition and the deal one of La Liga 2’s priciest ever.
Ghana-born Appiah is widely believed to have a promising career ahead of him.
He scored a goal on his professional debut for Forest in October last year, when he was brought on as a substitute in the 85th minute, and he is an English international at Under-19 level.
