Carlos Rojas, Former Mayor of Motril and Member of Congress of Deputies in Spain returned to the area to assist in the environmentally friendly initiative, Playa Patrol. The Playa Patrol ascheme has been tackling the ever growing concern of single use plastics and other non biodegradable rubbish left on the beaches of Costa Tropical. So far, five beaches have been subject to the clean up, with an area covering Motril, Almuñécar, Salobrena and La Herradura.
