ACCORDING to the annual 11th edition of The World’s 50 Best Bars listing, three of Spain’s bars have made the grade against the best in the world.
The awards took place in the Roundhouse bar in London and list a definitive ranking of the best cocktail bars as decided by an expert committee.
Winner of the coveted number one slot was Dante in New York, managed by Linden Pride, Nathalie Hudson and Naren Young, it has gradually climbed up the rankings to finally reach the top.
The Connaught Bar (London) and Floreria Atlántico (Buenos Aires) took the silver and bronze medals.
The first of the three Spanish bars that made the grade is Salmon Guru, managed by Diego Cabrera in the centre of Madrid, climbed to nineteenth position this year.
The Paradiso cocktail bar in Barcelona and Dr.Stravinksy, also in Barcelona both broke the top 30 with 20th and 25th respectively.
Two more Spanish cocktail bars made the top 100 – Javier de las Muelas’ Dry Martini coming in at number 74, and Two Schmucks at number 57, both in Barcelona.
