JACKPOT: A player purchased a winning ticket from a tobacconist in Palma.
A LUCKY player has struck gold in Mallorca, after winning a large amount of money on the EuroMillions. Eduardo Comas, the owner of Ca’n Comas tobacconist on Aragó Street, found out last Friday that one of his customers had scooped a €1 million prize. Placing a sign on the outside wall to announce that his shop was where the winning ticket was purchased, many curious people came inside to check if they had won. The identity of the new millionaire remains a mystery with Comas congratulating the winner, commenting that “with a million euros, you can rethink your life”. The prize-winning ticket was part of a complementary draw for Euromillions, available exclusively to Spanish players. The popular tobacconist opened in the 1970s and the biggest prize which has distributed at the shop up to this point was half a million euros for a Primitiva bet.
