New-look Adra public park officially open

THE Mayor of Adra has officially opened the Parque Europa in the La Curva neighbourhood following €117,000 worth of updates and improvements.
Manuel Cortes talked about the “impressive” transformation of the 3,600sqm area, which he stressed was for all municipal residents to make use of “to practice open-air sport, rest or simply have fun.”
The Mayor said the park works were part of the council’s to encourage local people of all ages to do physical activity and enjoy outdoor spaces.

The park now offers different leisure and relaxation areas aimed at both adults and children, including individuals with restricted mobility. Among the new facilities the area boasts are a children’s play area with an EU theme, a snack zone, a sports court with a basketball net, open-air exercise machines and a ‘cross riders’ circuit.
The Europea park is one of five public spaces in the municipality being given a facelift thanks the Adra Town 2020 Plan and an investment of €545,000, which is 80 per cent financed by the European Regional Development Fund and 20 per cent by the local council.
