Residents at Puebla Lucía protected against flu Credit: Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola
ALERT to the possible harm that flu can do to the elderly in particular, the Fuengirola Council has a policy of ensuring that those in its care are vaccinated accordingly.
145 residents of the Puebla Lucía home for the elderly were visited by health workers from the Costa del Sol Hospital and were given their vaccinations.
In addition and where considered necessary, some residents were also given an injection to stave off the risk of pneumonia.
Flu can affect anyone and the council is recommending that all of those over 65 should take precautions.
