MARBELLA became the capital of juvenile water polo as 200 youngsters descended on the Antonio Serrano Lima Pavilion from January 2 to 5 to take part in the XI Marbella European Water Polo Tournament.
For the first time, four girl’s teams were included in the 16 teams that took part in the event organised by the Marbella Water Polo Club which managed to attract attendance from clubs based in Catalonia, Madrid, Valencian Community and Andalucia.
The Marbella council was delighted to be associated to be involved once again in this prestigious tournament which gave young sportsmen from the city the opportunity to play against other experienced teams.
Spain has a reputation of embracing a number of less glamorous sports such as Water Polo and audiences enjoyed the activity.
