Violent Occurrence On Spanish Streets Result In One Man Shot Dead And Two Police Officers Stabbed Credit: Shutterstock
A MAN has been shot dead by Spanish police after stabbing two officers in Vallecas- Spain.
The man who was shot dead had a criminal record for gender violent offences and had threatened with burning his partner alive moments before the officers intervened.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Sunday morning, at 2:25 a.m. when the emergency services received a desperate call from a woman alerting that her daughter’s boyfriend was threatening to burn her daughter alive.
Spanish National Police were deployed to the scene. Upon opening the door to the home where the incident was taking place, the officers where brutally attacked by the man behind the violent act. The aggressor pounced on both of the officers with a knife, stabbing one of the agents in the neck and face and the second officer in the chest, close to the collarbone.
On viewing the brutal attack, and in order to prevent the assault from continuing, the policeman who had suffered the first knife attack and who had fallen to the ground as a result of the onslaught, was able to fire his gun at the aggressor, who died instantaneously.
The police officers, both in a critical condition, were then attended by Samur ambulance services. The officer who had been stabbed in the neck and face was taken to the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, the second officer was transferred to the Hospital Clínico San Carlos. Both police officers remain hospitalised.
According to police sources, the man shot dead had a criminal record for gender violence and a breach of conviction.
