AENA, the airport’s provider, released the announcement on their official website just before 12.30pm today. They advise all those who are travelling today to check the status of their flights with their airline providers to limit any further disruption being caused. They also state that the departure airport of some flights have also been changed.

As reported by Euro Weekly News yesterday, a fire broke out just after 2pm on Wednesday, January 15, resulting in the cancellation of 35 flights and the evacuation of some 2,000 people. The blaze caused huge disruption for passengers who were due to either depart or arrive at the airport today, with flights being cancelled or diverted.
