As storm Gloria continues to lash through Spain, areas like Albir have taken the brunt to an angry storm which has triggered a terrifying and rare red weather alert in Spain.
Residents from Albir, a small beach resort sandwiched between Altea and Benidorm on the northern Costa Blanca in Spain have recounted their first hand experience of a “terrifying night”
As resident Sonja Vermeylen explains how Storm Gloria has led to the “worst night” in the 10 years since she has lived in Spain. “The building was even shaking.” Sonja goes on to describe with “horrible noise all night long.” “Very scary”
It’s reported that in Javea the sand barrier on the Arenal “did not last” and most of the restaurants are flooded. In Denia the sea ha entered into the town provoking “enormous floods”
Anne Lise goes on to share her experience also “Gloria made a mess last night…” adding that the state of the rubble and debris on the streets looks “like after a ‘better party’” warning “the wind is coming in waves” and advises fellow residents to “stay safe inside.”
