WINE from Teulada-Moraira’s Sant Vicent Ferrer cooperative on the CostaBlanca won a gold medal at the Virtus International Awards wine event in Lisbon. The Moscatel Selecto was the only Valencian Community wine that won an award, commented Joselina Valles, the bodega’s manager. “This was the first time that we entered this particular mistela,” she said. “There are many similar Portuguese wines and you are competing against the best bodegas in the world. We never imagined that we were going to come away with a prize,” Valles continued. “We are very proud that our muscatel was so valued.” The Sant Vicente Ferrer cooperative, which produces 14 different wines that include muscatel, white and red wine, vermouths and cava, has won more than 20 prizes, many of them awarded at international events.
