Miss Gibraltar contestants sign up hoping to become Miss World

THE last few years have seen some problems in recruiting sufficient contestants for the Miss Gibraltar Pageant but 2020 has seen a great response.

Already eight local Gibraltarian young women have signed up to take part in the contest and the winner will go on to represent the Rock in the Miss World contest which will take place in Thailand later this year as it celebrates its 70th anniversary.

Three more girls are expected to sign on next week and the Miss Gibraltar Pageant will be held on Saturday June 6 at the John Mackintosh Hall theatre.

All of those signed up already will receive a payment of £500 and the prizes are Miss Gibraltar wins £2,000 plus a £3,500 clothing allowance, first runner up receives £1,000 and a £500 clothing allowance and the second runner up receives £500 and a £500 clothing allowance.
