DOG-OWNERS in Zamora can no longer choose when to take their pets out during lockdown.
City mayor Francisco Guarido announced that dogs may now be taken out only between 9am and 11am and between 7pm and 9pm each day.
During the State of Alarm and the restrictions imposed by the national government it was “imperative” to establish a set timetable for dog-walking, Guarido said.
Police will keep watch to ensure that citizens out with their pets maintain the required distance of at least one metre and they should go no further than 200 metres from their home.
He has had to this step, the mayor explained, to eradicate the antisocial practices of people who used animals as an excuse to flout lockdown regulations.
