Despite defeat to Lyon in the semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League, PSG coach, Olivier Echouafni, has come under fire for a different reason.
THE coach is coming under scrutiny after an interaction with one of his players following an 80th minute substitution.
The video, which is making the rounds on social media, has sparked great debate about the appropriateness of the gestures made by the coach, with some questioning whether it was an innocent act of a comforting coach or something more.

The viral video shared on Twitter by user @BlasianSays, with the comment “Yeah this is not how a coach touches a player” sparked a response from famous US soccer player, Hope Solo.
The legendary footballer made an initial response exclaiming, “Excuse me, what is he doing?” before following up with, “Look, this might not be as inappropriate as it initially seems when you watch this. We don’t know. This clip doesn’t show any context of the play or the team. But questions need to be asked and answered in situations like this.”
Comments ranging from; people calling for his resignation to support for his comforting actions, continue to be expressed as the video and conversations keep on going.
