CATHOLIC priest banned from the church after gang affiliations were discovered by parishioners

Father Guadalupe Rios, of Selma, California, has been banned from his former church, St, Joseph’s, after The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno issued a restraining order against him. Parishioners discovered the priest had gang affiliations and was involved with drugs, guns and sexual relationships.

Complaints were made after photos were discovered of Rios posing with an AK-47, an AR-556 and a .357 Magnum. He was also accused of having a sexual relationship with the church secretary, who said he was habitually under the influence of alcohol and marijuana

Court records also show Rios was convicted in 2016 over a DUI showing he had a blood alcohol content of .19, more than double the legal driving limit.

A judge approved the restraining order on Friday, October 30, protecting many in the church from the priest.

Police have also seized his assault rifle and Magnum from church grounds.
