Almuñecar goes green for International Day of People with Disabilities (December 3) by lighting the façade of the Sexitano Consistory and the Puerta de Almuñécar.

THE town council and associations ALOJHA and ASINAL have also launched an awareness campaign.
Under the slogan “Different capacities, equal opportunities”, the aim is to promote the “rights and needs of people with disabilities”, while emphasising the importance of “their active participation”.
After lighting the façade of the Town Hall and the Puerta de Almuñécar in green, Councillor for Social Services, Maria del Carmen Reinoso, said: “We illuminate hope in colour as a sign of support for the demand for a more inclusive society for people with disabilities.”
Councillors and town hall officials together with a wide representation of local groups ALOJHA and ASINAL attended the lighting event on Wednesday, December 2.
Maria del Carmen Reinoso added: “An inclusive town must favour autonomy, promote equal rights, promote the creation of favourable environments. It is everyone’s responsibility: public powers, private institutions and society as a whole, to ensure that situations of inequality do not occur.
