Coronation Street has released images of the moment a fire immerses Dev Alahan’s car.

Coronation Street has released images of the moment a fire immerses Dev Alahan’s car, with his son trapped inside.

This week, the ITV soap will broadcast a number of big stunts that will leave characters’ lives in serious danger, with Dev’s car explosion set to rip the Alahan family apart.

Aadi, his twin sister and their dad Dev will be in a terrifying car accident when a van slams into their broken down car.

Prisoner Harvey’s transport van will crash into the back of the broken down vehicle on the side of the road, leaving Dev and the twins in serious danger.

After the crash, Asha is unconscious in the back of the car, while Aadi remains trapped but conscious in the front.

Dev has the impossible decision to choose which of his children to drag out of the smashed-up car first, deciding that Asha is in the most danger.

However, new images appear to reveal that she regains consciousness once out of the vehicle.

The car then suddenly bursts into flames with Aadi still trapped inside as Dev watches on in terror.

Dramatic images released by ITV show the car engulfed in flames.

Later in the week, Dev faces an anxious wait at the hospital for news on Aadi who is seriously injured.

Actor Jimmi Harkishin, who plays Dev, revealed he would feel “pain” following the explosion and will wish that he could swap places with his son.

He explained: “He doesn’t feel guilty, but he is hurt and he is distraught because it is really painful to see anything happen to your children.”

“Dev wishes it was him and wishes he could take his son’s place. It’s an honest pain that he feels.”
