The sounds of the Marina Alta – capturing a life

Sea waves collide, boats arrive at the port, church bells ring, and isolated footsteps of farmers appear; these, amongst many, are the sounds of the Marina Alta.

The Spanish composer living in Costa Blanca, Javier Pinto, created a musical composition, using nothing except for the sounds captured from across the region.

He explained that he wanted to reflect the local region, not only visually, “showing our territory,” but also distinctively: “through music, which is also one of the products that identify us; incorporating those sounds, rhythms and even silences that are so ours to a melody that will accompany the landscapes of the Marina Alta.”

Sentir La Marina (Feeling La Marina) is now available for public viewing and listening, with sounds that will sound just like home to everyone familiar with Costa Blanca.

The video also depicts Javier´s journey across the region and his process of gathering the sound material for the song, surrounded by the beauty of Costa Blanca.
