Sun cream at the ready, the beloved summer fun zone is back. AquaMijas water park officially opens for the 2026 season on Thursday, May 1.
AquaMijas has been cooling people down from the sun’s rays since it first opened back in July 1986. Now in its fourth decade of operation, the park is still as strong and continues to draw families and thrill seekers year after year.
If you haven’t visited before, the park offers a heap of activity for all ages. Adrenaline chasers can take on the Kamikaze, a near-vertical, full-speed plunge, not for the faint hearted, or tackle the Crazy Loop, an enclosed tube slide with light effects for an extra sensory experience. The Maze of Slides offers two intertwining runs of 108 and 92 metres, while the Wild River sends riders through slopes, curves, and five connecting pools.
AquaMijas has something for all ages to keep you entertained for hours
For families with younger children, the Aqua Splash kids’ zone and the Children’s Pool La Jungla provide safe, age-appropriate fun, and the Diver-Dragon open slide is a crowd favourite for all the family. Those wanting to relax and are looking for something more leisurely can drift along the Adventure River, soak in the Jacuzzi, or simply unwind at the Blue Lake.
The Wave Pool and Lizards Island round out a lineup that gives the park real variety.
Practical information for planning your visit. The ticket office opens at 10:30am, with attractions closing 15 minutes before the park does. Free parking is available for park visitors, including dedicated disabled spaces. The park is strictly for ticket holders only and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Refuel in one of the many places to eat and drink
The park offers plenty on the refreshments side of things. You are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy in one of the many shaded areas or other dining options spread across a bar, cafeteria, self-service restaurant, and a poolside kiosk serving pizzas, ice creams, soft drinks, and more. Safe deposit box rentals and sunscreen are available on site, making it easy to travel light.
For those who want to combine their visit with another local attraction, AquaMijas also has a combined ticket with Bioparc Fuengirola, giving families a full day out across both parks. You can find special deal vouchers at various establishments along the coast. For all other information visit the website.
The perfect way to slide into summer.
