With properties along the coast continuing to evolve, increasing amounts of homeowners are looking for style and inspiration. For some, it can feel quite overwhelming to know what to search for to keep up with the current trends.
Whether you have a townhouse, sea-view penthouse or hillside villa, homeowners are looking for interiors that blend luxury with comfort, spaces designed to be lived in, not just admired. Local Interior designer Pepa Moreno shares her expert tips on the looks, materials and styling choices people are asking for right now.
Pepa: ‘Current interior trends in Marbella at the moment are moving towards warm minimalism, bringing together comfort, sustainability, natural textures and materials to create comfortable, lived-in spaces. This combined with the quiet luxury trend, which focuses on quality in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and hand crafted items, creates welcoming spaces where a nature-inspired palette really works.’
Warm earthy tones are used, including sand, ochre, terracotta, deep greens, and warm browns, replacing cooler greys. The fabrics used have more texture, featuring boucle, linen, and tactile materials. Limewash is used on walls and microcement on floors.
People wanting to experience more of an outdoor lifestyle, brings focus on outdoor areas, with emphasis on outdoor kitchens and comfortable seating areas, producing a seamless indoor/outdoor experience. We also see a big focus on wellness, such as integrated home saunas and cold plunges, as well as home gyms.´
Pepa brings inspiration and knowledge from her extensive background working on luxury projects across London and Europe
