Rojales will be transformed into a thematic wonderland of medieval magic at the beginning of May. The Medieval Market in Ciudad Quesada will take place from May 8 to May 10, 2026, turning Plaza Blanca into an even livelier setting inspired by the distant past. The event promises three days of activity centred around long-standing tradition, themed entertainment, and local culture.
A medieval market spectacle in Ciudad Quesada
The market will officially open on the afternoon of Friday, May 8 at around 6:00pm, offering visitors an evening introduction to its atmosphere. On Saturday and Sunday, activities will begin earlier, with stalls and performances running from 11:00am throughout the day and giving families and visitors the opportunity to partake and be immersed in the medieval atmosphere.
The Medieval Market will feature a varied programme that combines live music, traditional crafts, falconry displays, and gastronomy. Artisans will showcase handmade local and themed goods, while food stalls will provide a selection of mouth-watering local dishes. Falconry demonstrations are set to be one of the highlights, offering a glimpse into historical practices that continue to be interesting even today. Alongside this, live music performances will contribute to the immersive feel of the event, creating a dynamic environment across the weekend.
Plaza Blanca will serve as the central meeting point for the market. This well-known space within Ciudad Quesada is frequently used for community events, making it a suitable venue for an initiative of this scale. The open-air nature of the plaza will allow for residents and visitors to stop by and enjoy a festive day out on the town.
How and why to stop by Rojales’ themed market event this May
For those travelling by car, access to Ciudad Quesada is straightforward via the CV-905 road, which connects the area with other towns in the Vega Baja region. From there, visitors can easily reach Plaza Blanca within the urbanisation.
This medieval market adds to the range of themed events held in the province during spring, offering both residents and visitors another opportunity to enjoy a weekend of culture and entertainment while feeling immersed in a land and atmosphere of the past.
