Residents in Torrox can at last enjoy direct access between Mirador de la Dehesa and La Rabitilla through Fuente Cambil following the full opening of a fresh road connection. This route delivers smoother traffic flow and joins previously separate zones in one of the town’s fastest-expanding districts, home to many young families.
Enhanced access to essential facilities
Travel times will drop noticeably for families heading to local schools such as IES Jorge Guillén and CEIP Mare Nostrum. Parents and students can benefit from quicker, safer routes to the Teatro Municipal Villa de Torrox and other public buildings in the vicinity. Drivers also gain better entry to the free surface parking at La Rabitilla, which helps reduce congestion across the surrounding streets.
Investment delivers complete infrastructure
Council funding of around €200,000 supported the project, equipping the area with full services. Fresh tarmac covers the carriageway while modern pavements line the sides. Street lighting and updated drainage networks complete the works, allowing smooth integration of a nearby residential complex with three apartment buildings.
Focus remains on future mobility projects
Local planning continues to address parking shortages and transport needs across Torrox. Upcoming links will join Torrox Park with El Peñoncillo via the Carlaja path. Similar efforts already connect the industrial estate to the ring road and motorway access points through recent improvements on the reservoir road.
Commitment to quality of life in expanding zones
Every element of the road opening comes from careful technical preparation to match local growth patterns. Pedestrians and vehicles move more freely while new homes slot fully into the community fabric. Continued investment in these priority districts aims to raise living standards for current and future inhabitants.
Torrox is progressing steadily with practical transport solutions that respond directly to population increases. This latest addition forms part of broader efforts to keep neighbourhoods accessible and comfortable as development advances. Families report positive early feedback on reduced travel stress and easier routines in daily commutes.
