Food lovers are in for a treat as the popular Vera Tapas Route returns from May 30 to June 10 for its tenth annual edition. Organised as part of the Moors and Christians celebrations, the much-loved gastronomic event will once again bring together bars and restaurants from across Vera Pueblo and Vera Playa, serving up exclusive tapas specially created for the occasion.
Over the course of eleven days, visitors and locals alike will have the chance to sample a wide variety of creative dishes while exploring some of the town’s most popular eateries. Each tapa will cost just €3.50, making it an affordable way to enjoy a day or evening out with friends, family or even solo.
Discover the best tapas in Vera
The Vera Tapas Route has become one of the area’s most anticipated food events, with past editions attracting large crowds and generating a lively atmosphere throughout the municipality. The event not only showcases the creativity of local chefs, but also supports independent businesses and encourages visitors to discover different parts of Vera.
From traditional Spanish flavours to more modern culinary creations, participating establishments will compete for the title of best tapa in Vera. As well as local bragging rights, the winning restaurant will also receive €300 in prize money, adding an extra layer of competition to this year’s route.
How to take part in the Vera Gastronomic Route
Joining the tapas trail is simple. Participants can collect a route passport from Vera Town Hall before setting off on their culinary adventure. Each time you visit a participating establishment, you can collect a stamp in your passport while tasting the specially prepared tapas.
Once at least five stamps have been collected, completed passports must be delivered to the Vera Tourism Office by June 15. Everyone who takes part and submits their passport will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win a €500 cash prize.
Explore Vera Pueblo and Vera Playa through food
Whether you are a local resident or visiting the Costa de Almería for a holiday, the Vera Tapas Route offers a fantastic opportunity to explore both Vera Pueblo and Vera Playa in a unique and delicious way. To make things easier, Vera Town Hall has also produced a handy map highlighting all participating venues, helping visitors plan the perfect tapas route.
With previous editions proving hugely successful year after year, organisers are expecting another strong turnout for this special tenth anniversary celebration.
