Its back and bigger and funnier than ever. The International Theatre Studio (ITS) is all ready to bring to you their annual Lark in the Park.
This well loved outdoor charity event held in the natural amphitheatre of Parque Torre Leonera, Benahavis is a huge hit with fans of the studio. Past shows have included one‑act comedies such as Last Tango in Benahavis and The Val Hala Fashion Show, along with musical performances by local artists including Karen Danzig, Sam Oliver, Stella, and the Del Sol Singers.
Funds raised in previous years have supported charities such as Age Concern España and Aspandem.
What is happening this year?
The 2026 fundraiser takes place on Sunday, June 7 with an exciting mix of theatre, entertainment and live music.
This year’s crowning jewel is the premiere of “The Fun Factory”, a new comedy written and directed by ITS member Kate Jackson. The play draws on the true story of British music‑hall impresario Fred Karno, whose “Fun Factory” in Camberwell trained performers including Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel.
Following the performance, guests can enjoy live music and dancing led by Paul Hull, a popular Costa del Sol singer known for his multi‑genre acoustic sets and popular beach‑club and restaurant performances.
Supporting a great cause, Emaus Obra de Amor
Some of the proceeds from the evening will support Emaus Obra de Amor NGO Association of Soup Kitchens, which provides daily meals and a safe, kind, environment for people experiencing vulnerability. A portion will also contribute to the ITS building and equipment fund.
How can I attend
For an evening of non stop entertainment, laughs and live music, Lark in the Park is for you.
Entry is by donation, with a minimum contribution of €20. The park opens at 3pm, giving guests time to settle in with their picnics, with the amphitheatre opening at 6pm for seating. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic, drinks, cushions, portable tables, deck chairs, rugs and cooler boxes to make the most of the gorgeous outdoor setting. Free parking is available at the Benahavis Town Hall car park, courtesy of the council.
Based in the Marbella–San Pedro area, ITS has built a reputation for high‑quality productions across comedy, drama, tragedy and light entertainment, supported by a membership of more than 100 theatre enthusiasts.
