Pride festivities are officially underway in Torremolinos, transforming the town into a vibrant hub of music, culture, and LGBTQ+ activism.
The 12-day extravaganza runs until June 6. Record-breaking crowds are expected as one of Andalucia’s most important Pride events enters its busiest and most exciting period.
What is the theme for Torremolinos Pride 2026?
Organisers launched this year’s edition under the powerful slogan “Where Culture is Sown, Freedom Flourishes,” placing artistic expression and LGBTQ+ visibility at the very heart of the event.
The event’s official poster was created by renowned illustrator Asis Percales. His striking artwork pays homage to Spanish legends like Federico Garcia Lorca and jazz pianist Pia Beck, both famous in Torremolinos’ history.
During the official presentation, Councillor for Equality Francisco Garcia emphasised culture as an essential tool for local freedom and visibility.
Concert line-up of who is performing
Music lovers will have a ball, with an incredible line-up of headliners including Miss Caffeina, Agoney, and Alba Reche. They are joined by crowd favourites like Danny Beard, La Prohibida, and Rosalinda Galan.
Breaking new ground for 2026, the festival welcomes drag kings Marcus Massalami and Ken Panada to the main stage for the first time, beautifully expanding representation in the programme.
The central point for the week’s major performances and activities will be the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre, which is where the largest crowds will gather. Hosting duties throughout the festival will be shared by popular local personalities including Ivan Gelibter, Xenon Spain, Pink Chadora, Estupenda Marquez, and Kelly Roller.
Upcoming schedule, parade, high heel race, and key dates
The coming days are packed with community action as Pride reaches its peak. Mark your calendars for these major schedule highlights:
- Thursday, June 4: The deployment of the giant LGBTQ+ flag at the Town Hall at 12pm, followed by the official Proclamation (Pregon) at 8:30pm. This year’s speech will be delivered by Satin Greco, the beloved Torremolinos local and winner of the fifth series of Drag Race España.
- Friday, June 5: The hilarious and competitive High Heel Race kicks off at 7:30pm, right after the “Mascotas Orgullosas” proud pet competition.
- Saturday, June 6: The spectacular main Pride Demonstration. Starting at 5pm at the Town Hall, the march will feature 23 colorful floats and 13 LGBTQ+ associations making their way through the town centre to the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre.
Other unique events scheduled throughout the week include the family-focused Family Diversity Day, the first-ever Rainbow Bike parade, and the Sergio Martín Calderon beach volleyball tournament at Los Alamos beach.
The history of Torremolinos Pride from Pasaje Begoña to Europe’s top LGBTQ+ destination
Yes, the atmosphere is undeniably festive, but Torremolinos Pride never forgets its roots. During the 1960s, the town’s Pasaje Begoña was an international oasis of freedom, before a notorious police raid in June 1971, under the Franco regime that changed everything.
Today’s celebrations directly honour that legacy of bravery and resistance. Thanks to the unwavering support of local businesses, residents, and associations, Torremolinos has made its mark on the Pride calendar.
Expect music, color, and community pride to fill the streets all week long.
