Those who love a little classical organ music will be gathering in Marbella for a memorable closing event this coming weekend, Sunday, June 7 at 5pm. The III Festival Internacional de Organo Bach-Marbella reaches its climax with a special performance by Italian virtuoso Sossio Capasso.
Artist profile
Sossio Capasso comes from Naples in Italy and brings impressive credentials to this occasion. Training at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella in Naples provided his foundation. Further refinement came through work with distinguished tutors, including L Ghielmi, L F Tagliavini, J Boyer, N Hakim and E Baiano. Multiple first prizes from international competitions such as Fano Adriano, Baceno-Stresa and Spoleto demonstrate his calibre. Capasso maintains an active schedule across Europe with particular emphasis on historical and contemporary organ pieces.
Programme details
Audiences can look forward to a rich selection of compositions during this concert. Capasso performs works by G Muffat, J S Bach, J Langlais and O Messiaen. These choices celebrate both Baroque traditions and 20th-century innovation. Bach remains central to the festival ethos while the additional composers add depth and variety.
Practical information
Classical concertgoers will find the concert at Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación in central Marbella. Doors open for the performance on Sunday, June 7, at 5pm. Attendees can enjoy the church setting and its fine pipe organ in ideal acoustic conditions. Free entry makes this accessible to everyone who appreciates classical music.
This final concert caps another successful season for the Bach-focused series in the Costa del Sol city. Early arrival is advisable because popular events often attract good crowds. Further details appear on the event page at tevienes.com.
Organ enthusiasts and newcomers to classical recitals discover an excellent opportunity to enjoy exceptional live music. Marbella continues to support quality cultural programmes that enhance the local social calendar during the early summer period. The event is free, although voluntary donations will be welcome at the church doors.
