Love filled the streets of Mojácar on Saturday, 27 June, as the village once again hosted La Noche Romántica. Renowned for transforming the picturesque Old Town into a celebration of romance, music and community spirit, the evening attracted hundreds of residents and visitors eager to experience its unique atmosphere.
As the sun set over the whitewashed village, couples wandered hand in hand through streets adorned with heart-shaped decorations, flower petals and flickering candlelight. The romantic trail led visitors towards the iconic Plaza Nueva, where the heart of the festivities came to life with live entertainment, music and performances that kept crowds entertained throughout the evening.
Local businesses also embraced the occasion, decorating their shop windows with imaginative romantic displays and offering special promotions, creating a vibrant atmosphere that extended throughout the historic centre.
Entertainment and community spirit at the heart of the event
Plaza Nueva became the focal point of the celebrations as families, friends and couples gathered beneath twinkling lights to enjoy a varied programme of entertainment. Mime artists delighted audiences with interactive performances, while live musicians and performers ensured there was something for all ages.
The event once again highlighted the strong sense of community that has become synonymous with La Noche Romántica. Visitors explored the charming streets, discovered local shops and restaurants, and enjoyed an evening that successfully combined culture, tourism and commerce in one memorable celebration.
Competition winners recognise creativity and local businesses
Following the event, Mojácar announced the winners of the competitions organised to encourage participation and support local businesses.
The Shop Window Competition was won by Siempre Viva, a fashion and illustration boutique on Calle Aire. Its beautifully designed romantic display received the highest number of public votes during the campaign. As a prize, the business will receive a professionally produced promotional video to be shared through the Enamorados de Almería social media channels, helping to further promote the shop and the town’s thriving local commerce.
Visitors who made purchases in participating businesses were also entered into the annual prize draw. The prizes included a tropical massage, spa access and afternoon tea for two at Servigroup Marina Playa, a 90-minute spa experience, and a €50 dinner for two at Pulcinella Mojácar.
The II La Noche Romántica Photography Competition also rewarded those who captured the spirit of the evening. Rosa María Albarral González won the award for Most Romantic Photograph, earning a weekend stay for two at Hotel Arena Mojácar, while María García Saquete received the prize for Most Romantic Outfit, winning an overnight stay for two at Hotel Cabo Sur.
La Noche Romántica continues to grow in Mojácar
More than simply an evening dedicated to romance, the event has become an important showcase for Mojácar’s historic beauty, thriving hospitality sector and independent businesses.
By bringing together culture, tourism and local commerce in such a distinctive setting, La Noche Romántica continues to strengthen the village’s reputation as one of Andalucía’s most enchanting destinations, ensuring it remains one of the highlights of the summer calendar year after year.
