More than 600 people came together in Gandia this weekend as the annual Alma de Acero charity event once again proved that community spirit is one of the city’s greatest strengths.
The tenth edition of the much-loved Matinal AdA transformed the morning into a celebration of solidarity, bringing together families, motorcycle enthusiasts, local businesses and volunteers with one shared goal: raising funds for local charitable causes and helping those most in need.
Organisers thanked everyone who attended, writing on Facebook: “We want to thank the more than 600 people who spent the morning enjoying the X Matinal AdA. We hope we lived up to your expectations.” They also praised the volunteers, sponsors and supporters whose efforts made the event possible.
More than just a motorcycle gathering
While motorcycles remain at the heart of Alma de Acero’s identity, the annual gathering has evolved into one of Gandia’s best-known community charity events.
Visitors enjoyed live entertainment, food and drink, activities throughout the morning and the chance to meet fellow supporters, all while contributing towards projects that directly benefit vulnerable people in the local area.
The organisation has spent around 15 years carrying out children’s charity projects while also responding to emergency situations when families have needed urgent support. That long-standing commitment has helped Alma de Acero build a loyal following well beyond the motorcycling community.
Helping local charities year after year
Unlike many fundraising events where proceeds are spread nationally, Alma de Acero focuses on helping people close to home.
Funds raised throughout the year support local charitable initiatives, children’s projects and families facing difficult circumstances, with volunteers working throughout the year rather than only during headline events.
The group has also become known for stepping in during times of crisis. Following the devastating floods in Valencia, members travelled to affected areas to deliver aid and practical assistance, reinforcing their reputation as an organisation driven by action rather than words.
A growing movement
The success of this year’s event reflects how Alma de Acero continues to grow, attracting hundreds of supporters from across the region.
Social media was filled with messages praising the atmosphere and thanking organisers for another successful edition, with many already looking forward to next year’s event.
For those behind the charity, however, the real measure of success goes beyond attendance numbers. Every ticket sold, every donation made and every volunteer who gave up their time helps fund future projects that make a tangible difference within the Gandia community.
As Alma de Acero reminded supporters in one of its messages, everyone involved becomes part of something much bigger than a single event. With another successful edition now complete, the organisation’s combination of community, compassion and volunteer spirit continues to leave a lasting mark on Gandia.
