Benidorm’s iconic L’Hort de Colón recently hosted the first ‘Pop-Up of Local Brands + Biomaterials’ event, an initiative that was extremely well received by both residents and visitors. The event brought together 14 local projects and brands, and was promoted by designer and entrepreneur Mireia Hernández, who is also the creator of ‘Socmateria’.

During the two hours of the event, it was very well attended, and formed part of the ‘Your Business Grows’ campaign, with which the Department of Commerce seeks to support and make visible the commercial and business fabric of the city. This meeting generated a new place where merchants, entrepreneurs, creators, artists and attendees could socialise and learn about the different projects developed in the city.

In addition, more than a dozen local projects were put into the spotlight by the initiative, ranging from the commerce, hospitality, crafts, culture, food, and creative arts sectors. The pop-up format for the exhibition allowed the public to easily access the space, strolling through the fascinating stands, and entry was completely free to anyone who wanted to take a look.
A fun event that included gastronomy and live music by talented local DJs
In addition to the exhibition and sale of products, the event featured tastings, demonstrations, and background music by Indiverso DJ Festival, creating a unique business and social space with the aim of connecting residents, visitors, businesses, and entrepreneurs.
Sustainable innovation meets community spirit
Blending sustainable material innovation with neighborhood commercial outreach, the initiative successfully demonstrated how local governments and creative entrepreneurs can unite to support the domestic market. The successful turnout highlights a strong community appetite for home-grown products, setting a promising precedent for future events that stand at the forefront of Benidorm’s independent business scene.
