La Marina residents are being invited to support a community fundraiser aiming to purchase a potentially life-saving defibrillator for the local area.
The event takes place on Monday, September 28, from 4:30 PM, with food, live entertainment and a raffle planned at the rear of The Grill House, Bob’s Bar and the Seniors Friendship Association. Tickets cost €10.
Paella, live music and raffle will help raise money for La Marina defibrillator
Organisers are bringing the community together for an afternoon and evening of entertainment while raising money towards the purchase of the new equipment.
The fundraiser begins at 4:30 PM, with a paella being served from 6:00 PM.
Live entertainment will come from Jack Duggan, Rae Daniel and Sam, providing music throughout the event while residents support the fundraising appeal.
There will also be a raffle featuring a selection of prizes, adding another opportunity to contribute towards the final total.
Tickets cost €10 and are available in advance from Bob’s Bar and the Seniors Friendship Association, both located in Calle Madrid, La Marina.
New defibrillator would provide emergency equipment at a central community location
Money raised during the September 28 event will go towards purchasing a defibrillator for the local area.
The equipment is intended to be installed at the rear of The Grill House and Bob’s Bar, providing access to a defibrillator at a central community location in the event of a cardiac emergency.
Defibrillators are designed to deliver a controlled electric shock in certain cases of cardiac arrest. Rapid access to the equipment can be important while emergency medical assistance is on its way.
The fundraising effort is therefore intended to provide something that could potentially make a critical difference during a medical emergency.
