Can you think of a better day than one that involves donkeys and dancing, art and animals and all for a good cause? Well that’s what’s coming to El Soto, La Mairena on Saturday, October 10.
A perfect day of art at El Soto de Marbella
Animal lovers and supporters across the Costa del Sol are invited to the Art for the Animals charity event on Saturday, October 10 at El Soto de Marbella clubhouse in La Mairena. Doors opens at 10am, with entertainment and art from local artists running the entire day until 10pm. Money raised will go to ACE-SHIN Animal Care España and Donkey Dreamland sanctuary in Mijas.
Talented artists Kelly Glithro, Oksana Kocuriene (Roxanne), Lesley Lawrence, Margaritha Meus and Anfisa Zinchenko are the ones who are kindly supporting the day with their pieces up for grabs.
Meet the donkeys and book a dance class
Little ones and grown-ups can say hello to the Donkey Dreamland residents between 12pm and 2pm in the El Soto car park. This session is completely child-friendly, and donkey merchandise will be on sale for anyone wanting a keepsake.
Feeling energetic? Niko and Marisa lead a dance class at 5pm, open to every level. Tickets cost €15 per person and can be booked ahead of time via the poster.
As evening comes the art auction will come alive, starting at 7pm then followed by live music from Geoff at 8pm. Golf balls are also on offer in return for a donation. El Soto Restaurant has a special menu designed for the charitable day by Thomas, promising delicious food and stunning views from the sunny terrace.
Why your support is so important
ACE-SHIN in La Cala de Mijas is a no-kill refuge caring for hundreds of dogs and cats. It receives no council grant and depends on fundraising for food, vet treatment and shelter. Donkey Dreamland gives rescued and retired donkeys a peaceful life free from pain, funded entirely by visitors and private donors.
Many locals have already rolled up their sleeves this autumn, from charity lunches at Raquets and El Jinete to a 100km sponsored walk planned for November. Saturday brings you another easy and different way to join in.
If you have any questions you can contacts the organisers on WhatsApp at +37068260151. To book the dancing or view the menu you can do so via the poster found on Facebook.
Whether you come for the food, art, the dancing or the donkeys, your day out will help animals who cannot speak up for themselves.
