Skateboarders took to the streets of Javea for two exciting days of competition and activities as the Active Extreme Xàbia 2026 championship returned to the town on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24. The event, held at the skatepark in Portal del Clot, brought the regional skateboarding scene to the Marina Alta town, with free entry allowing spectators to watch the action.

Organised with passion and excitement by local skateboarding organisations, the championship promoted urban sports and gave young athletes a prime opportunity to demonstrate their skills. Friday’s programme focused on training sessions, giving attendees the chance to practise their tricks and familiarise themselves with the course. The opening day also featured a Game of S.K.A.T.E competition, a head-to-head challenge in which skaters attempted to match each other’s impressive tricks.

Saturday saw the main competition take place, with registration and training sessions beginning in the morning before the qualifying rounds and finals. The 2026 edition of the event featured three principal categories: mixed under-12s, a women’s open and a men’s open. The programme also introduced a challenging obstacle course on skateboards, adding another element of entertainment to the weekend.
Finally, the event culminated in an awards ceremony on Saturday evening, when trophies and prizes were scheduled to be presented following the day’s competitions. The event offered residents and visitors an opportunity to experience the thrilling sport of skateboarding up close while providing competitors with a platform to showcase their technique, balance and creativity.
A celebration of local skateboarding, sport and community spirit
Javea has hosted regional skateboarding competitions in previous years, with the Portal del Clot skate park becoming an established venue for the beloved sport. Previous editions have also included street-skateboarding competitions and trick-based challenges. The 2026 championship continued that tradition, combining organised competition with activities designed to encourage wider participation.
Although skateboarding is often associated with individual practice, events like Active Extreme Xàbia also create opportunities for athletes to socialise, exchange techniques with like-minded hobbyists and connect with the local sporting community.
