THE sliproad to Torremolinos from the A-7 motorway, exit 227, will be closed for a month from today (Thursday). People driving to Torremolinos on the A-7 are expected to face tailbacks as traffic will be channeled to the Arroyo de la Miel exit (222) or Los Alamos exit (229).
Several people who commute to work in Arroyo de la Miel from Malaga and Fuengirola told EWN they expect traffic jams on the already busy Arroyo exit.
The closure of the exit will allow works to continue on the ring road which will connect the road to the Guadalhorce Motorway at the area near Campanillas.
The news comes just weeks after Partido Popular President in Andalucia, Javier Arenas, announced he has joined the KM222 association created to demand improved access to Benalmadena from the A-7 motorway.
The campaign began in January and has collected more than 2,000 signatures in favour of creating another slip road from the motorway to prevent the tailbacks which are a daily occurrence at exit 222 to Benalmadena at key times of the day.
