THE 31-year-old man from Pinoso (Alicante) accused of pouring gasoline on a small dog’s back and setting it alight has been released on bail. The dog is still alive, but all the hair on its back is gone and it has been left with severe burns. A prison sentence of between three months to a year is applicable in cases of animal cruelty, but up to three years if the animal dies or is severely injured.
