SAN SEBASTIAN has been chosen as Spain’s European Capital of Culture 2016. It beat Burgos, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Cordoba, Segovia and Zaragoza in obtaining the title which is hoped to make it a city “open to the world”. The city named as European Capital of Culture 2016 in Poland was Wroclaw.
