THE family of a man believed to have been living in the Nerja area have made an appeal for information about his whereabouts.
Gary Andrew Butcher, 48, has been living in Benalmadena for the past eight years and maintained regular contact with his elderly mother and children in the UK.
In June last year he is said to have left without telling any of the many friends he had made there and called his mother to tell her he had moved to Nerja to look for work.
He contacted his family again a week later, when he is said to have been calm, but since then, his family has heard nothing more from him, nor have his friends.
His phone is unobtainable. He has no known enemies.
Gary has no registered mental problems, but his friends claim he had been suffering mood swings and became withdrawn for short periods of time.
He has a son and daughter, aged 24 and 25. He has missed birthdays and Christmas. The Spanish authorities have been informed of his disappearance, as well as the British Consulate and the Foreign Office.
If you have any information on his whereabouts please contact PC Paul Wilkinson on +44 7795 507 046, or see the Facebook page ‘Have you seen Gary Butcher’.
