Mystery over ‘theft’ of €789,000

MYSTERY surrounds the disappearance of a special delivery box containing €789,000. A security guard working at the airport has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft.

The money- which has not yet been found – was part of a shipment of five boxes flown in from Mahon in Minorca to Palma de Mallorca’s Son Sant Joan airport. There are records of the missing box being loaded onto the plane in Mahon, which points to the ‘theft’ taking place after it arrived in Palma.
