Balearic Islands
THE Balearics is the second highest region in Spain that received the most foreign tourists in July with 1,980,172, after Cataluña’s 2,026,728.
This is 2.6 per cent more than the same month last year.
So far this year, 5,880,342 tourists from outside of Spain have come to the Balearic Islands, according to official data.
This is 2.2 per cent more than the same period in 2011.
Germans and Brits made up the bulk of these tourists.
Meanwhile, Spain received 7.7million foreign tourists in July, which is 4.4 per cent more than the same month last year.
In the first seven months of the year 32.8million came to Spain, which is 3.3 per cent more than the same period 2011.
