MAINTENANCE work has started on Avenida Las Ramblas, Orihuela Costa. The Councillor for the Coast and Beaches, Pedro Mancebo, together with the Environmental Department, authorised the work which has seen the pruning of 300 palm trees that line the road.
Councillor Mancebo said, “The workers have been brought to the coast to carry out this type of work and to keep up with maintenance. As everyone is aware, there are many jobs to be done and the list is long, but I am very pleased with the efficiency and speed in which the workers are carrying out their tasks.”
The councillor underlined the importance of the Avenida being spruced up due to it being the main access road to the Las Ramblas Golf Course which attracts many golfers and tourists to this area.
A further task to be carried out by the council will be the building of an ornamental fountain near the main entrance. The installation of street lighting in Calle Cipres in Lomas de Cabo Roig has also been completed residents highlighted the need.
