Another atrocity in name of Islam

YET another atrocity committed in the name of Islam extremism.

Until this recent act of barbarism against two young British volunteer teachers the only familiarity I had with Zanzibar was the 1954 movie West of Zanzibar starring Richard Todd.

The song associated with the film was a rather catchy piece, which began with the line ‘Jambo, happy meeting you, Jambo, when you say hello’…

It conjured up a picture of a sun-drenched, peaceful country, with gaily clad residents extending a warm welcome to all who cared to visit.

Well Islam (now engulfing 99 per cent of the local populace) has changed all that.

The acid attack on these teenagers, who may have apparently offended Islam in some obscure way, has altered the face of this previously happy and carefree country forever.

How can the so called ‘moderate’ factions of this religion continue to insist that it is only a small minority of its followers that are responsible for these unspeakable acts of violence and horror? 

At times it seems it is not the extremists in the minority, but the moderates.

Throughout the world Islam worshippers are engaged in the so-called religious war, which their radical Imams preach is their absolute singular task until Islam, with its Sharia law, prevails throughout.

Are they winning this conflict?

Well, all I can say is that 20 or so years ago, most Westerners couldn’t even spell Islam, let alone have any knowledge of it. The only burkahs ever to materialise in the West were worn by rich Sheikhs ‘wives,’ with some caught shoplifting in London stores with thousands of pounds in their handbags.

And you might recall, this ol boy was accused of ranting and alarmism whenever I wote warning of their actions.

Now not a day goes by without the followers of this religion gaining publicity in some form or another.

Rarely, however, are they mentioned or involved with any constructive or peaceful input toward society. It is all too often public disorder or violence and destruction.

If the West does not stop kowtowing and the moderate Muslims don’t stand up and actually do something, in 20 years or so they will wake up to a world, which quite frankly is not one I would like to think I bequeathed to any children of mine. Ranting again Leapy? Somehow I think not.
