Suitcase couple make Almeria their home

BETSY and Warren Talbot made a life changing decision aged 40 and decided to live the rest of their lives out of suitcases while travelling the world.

They witnessed some severe health crises in people close to them, also in their 30s, causing the couple of re-evaluate their lives and where they were headed. They asked themselves just one question: “What would we change about our lives right now if we knew we wouldn’t live until 40?”

The answer to the question prompted them to make major changes to their lives. They packed up their home and their lives and booked a one-way ticket to Ecuador. Now, in 2015, they are living in Lubrin and are quick to extol the virtues of the town which they describe as perfect. “We love the weather, the people, the lifestyle,” they said.

Through their website at www.marriedwithluggage.com Warren and Betsy have been sharing their relationship in the public eye since 2008, when they first made the decision to quit their jobs, sell everything they owned, and travel the world full-time.

The plucky couple have written a number of books about their journey as well as keeping the world informed of their progress on the website via podcasts. They plan to spend the next year in Spain, learning Spanish.
