OVERNIGHT stays in the Balearic Islands increased by 7.5 per cent in January.
Tourist accommodation establishments on the islands registered a total of 187,064 overnight stays in the first month of 2015, which translates into a 7.5 per cent increase compared with the same month of the previous year, when 173,404 stays where registered, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
In total, there were 100 hotels open across the islands during January, with 2,494 employed workers.
The average number of days that tourists stayed on the islands was 3.97 days.
