NERJA will celebrate the Pilgrimage of San Isidro, patron saint of farm workers, on Thursday and Friday (May 14 and 15).The activities will begin on Thursday night in the Nerja Caves facilities with the Fiesta Menta in the Youth Area, which will include music from DJs Juanjo Vergara, Victor Fernandez, Luis Roca and Fran Jimenez.On Friday, at 11am, the ‘Misa Rociera’, a Mass where participants attend in Flamenco attire will take place at the El Salvador Church with performances by a traditional Flamenco choir.At noon, the town will pay homage to local farm workers at the front door of the church with another performance by the Nerja and Maro municipal folklore group. After that, pilgrims will start their journey to the San Isidro chapel on foot, horseback and carriages.The arrival at the chapel, which is located in the Nerja Cave facilities, has been scheduled for around 2.30pm.At 3.30pm, there will be performances featuring Nuevo Compas and Alalba groups.The best carriages will have the chance to receive awards in a contest that will take place at 6pm.
