THE local council of Finestrat has renewed a cooperation agreement with Carrefour, with the aim of continuing to promote the hiring of local, unemployed residents.The formalisation agreement was signed on Tuesday May 19 by Finestrat mayor, Honorato Algado, and the director of Carrefour Finestrat, Francisco José Carceller.The mayor said: “This agreement demonstrates the commitment of local government to strive to reduce the unemployment rate in the town, a problem which concerns everyone.”The agreement signed sets out a framework of cooperation between the municipality of Finestrat and Carrefour. In order to be eligible for the selection processes outlined in the agreement, interested candidates must be resident in the municipality of Finestrat and also registered in the municipal employment exchange as jobseekers. Carrefour is one of Spain’s biggest employers and a major provider of work in the Finestrat area.
