NEGOTIATIONS between the local government of Velez-Malaga and a transport company have started with the goal of bringing the famous tram service back to town.A statement released by the council announced that Mayor Antonio Moreno Ferrer and company Recfer Recursos Ferroviarios, led by Marcelo Gavira, have begun talks to make the tram run again after a three-year hiatus. The company has worked on the Barcelona high-speed train AVE, the Sevilla tram and constructed infrastructure for the Lerida-La Pobla tramline.“We believe the tram to be an ecological transport service, in accordance with the kind of town we want to build,” said the mayor.
