THE Mayor of Coin, Fernando Fernandez, will have to raise his salary by €460 per year to meet the Local Administration Streamlining Law, the council has announced.This means the mayor, who has said he will not be putting in expenses, will earn a gross salary of €55,000 per year, while the deputy mayor will earn €40,000.After a plenary session to agree salaries, the mayor explained that although these had been increased slightly taxpayers would not be affected. In fact as the councillor taking a post at the provincial government would not be receiving a municipal salary, about €800 less would be spent, Fernandez explained.
