FOR the first time, Torremolinos will hire women to clean up the town’s streets.Five vacancies for cleaning workers and an added one earmarked for a person with disabilities have been opened by the municipal cleaning company Litosa, according to a statement released by the Town Council.These new employees will begin working by August 1, to reinforce the team in the cleaning campaign launched by the beginning of July.“All citizens must have the same opportunities to a public job and, until now, women had not yet been given the chance to have one of these jobs in Litosa, and the Council’s priority is encouraging equality, said Employment Councillor, Carmen Garcia.
