Companies race for coastal path contracts

A TOTAL of 65 companies have applied for contracts to carry out work on two new stretches of coastal path in Estepona.
The larger of the two projects will create a 274-metre path between Hotel Kempinski and Laguna Village complex, including a 32-metre-long wooden bridge over Rio Padron. The project also aims to improve access to El Padron beach and will be adapted for disabled users. The €452,211 budget also includes street lighting and garden improvements.
The other stretch, between Alcazaba Beach and Los Pinillos, will be 97 metres long and aims to connect two existing paths. A €46,017 budget for the project includes 3.5-metre-wide patterned, concrete pathways, new trees and urban fittings.
Work is expected to begin on both stretched in September.
